We have been using this space to report what Quantum Newport has accomplished in the sailing world over the last few months. However, with recently past and upcoming holidays, we've decided to take an opportunity to report about what has gone on here since Quantum Newport opened it’s doors, mid-summer of 2004. And not in the sailing arena, but on a personal level.
The impetus for this is our approaching Christmas party. Collectively we have a number of rather hazy memories of Christmas parties past, which featured late night revelry and morning-after dustiness. But over the last couple of years, our holiday party has involved less revelry and more logistics -- working around the kids' naps and bedtimes; accommodating the beverage needs of those less inclined to tie one on; offering options for the vegetarians in the group -- so this year we have settled on the civilized notion of an adults-only lunch for 15 at a somewhat fancy local restaurant.
It has certainly been a wonderful evolution!
For those of you keeping score at home, below is a brief "geneology" of the growing Quantum Newport family.

So in sum, we've gone from 2 couples and 2 kids at our inception, to 7 couples and 12 kids in our current evolution! We have always been a close-knit bunch here at Quantum and we're proud to see that in the process of becoming Newport’s premier sailmaker we have also transformed into a truly family operation.
Happy Holidays from Randall, Rob and Tim and all the staff here at Quantum Newport.
